Oh joy. It is official. I have caught Swine Flu.
I put it off for so long but when I began to have chest pains and a cough along with a high temperature, I figured it was time to see the doctors. I was worried incase I would catch pneumonia in the sudden cold weather we have here in Tokyo right now. Once you get pneumonia with your swine flu you are pretty much done for.
I got dressed, packed an overnight bag (just in case) and went aknocking next door for my landlady at about 9pm. She the took my temperature, gave me a ton of blankets and drove me to Musashino Red Cross Hospital.
While there I waited for an 2 hours. She stayed with me the whole time and she even rubbed my back when I said it hurt and she really looked after me. She explained to the hospital staff, wrote the kanji of my address for me and stuff.
My temperature was 38 degrees. My chest still hurts, I have a sore throat, occassional bouts of sneezing and coughing, a massive headache, a runny nose, I can’t stop shivering and to add insult to injury I am now super hungry. But alas, all i have is pasta and it takes too long to make this late at night.
I will have to take time off uni, be in quarantine for a few days and I have o drink a horrible powder every so often to get rid of my fever, and take tamiflu twice a day.
Joy.
